A Registered Play Therapist is someone who is specially trained to help children who have some kind of difficulty, challenge or issue in their lives. The job of a play therapist is to help children who are hurting on the inside, to support them while they find coping tools that work for them, raise their emotional intelligence, and help ease their hurts.
Because we use play to do this, a play therapist is able to help children understand their feelings and themselves a bit better without pressure or shame. Childrens' problems can feel smaller when they understand they are not alone and can cope with what life brings. It might take a little while, but in the end they will feel ready to be able to manage on their own.
